About
The label is lettered the way names are set on architectural drawings: lower-case text in small capitals, widely spaced, in a quiet grey. It runs up the right-hand edge from the bottom corner, with a hairline at mid-height before and after it, like a strikethrough that stops short of the letters.
The label sits in the white margin, so the code itself is complete and uses standard error correction. Every code is still read back with the jsQR scanner before you download it, and made larger if it doesn’t read cleanly. Codes are made with qrcode-generator.
The SVG is sharp at any size, which is best for print and signage, and carries its font with it. The PNG is for screens and documents. Everything happens in your browser.
Questions
Does the label stop it scanning?
No. It’s outside the code, in the margin, and every code is checked with a scanner before you download it. Test it with your own phone before printing a lot of copies.
How big should I print it?
At least 2 cm across for a phone held close, and about a tenth of the scanning distance, so 30 cm across to scan from 3 metres.
